Identive Group Announces Third Quarter 2011 Results
Identive Group, Inc. today announced results for the fiscal third quarter (Q3) ended September 30, 2011.
Revenue in Q3 2011 was $26.8 million, up 30% from $20.5 million in Q3 2010 and up 4% from $25.6 million in the second quarter (Q2) of 2011. Sales in Q3 were driven by broad demand for identity management solutions for consumer and citizen ID applications globally as well as ongoing implementations of physical and IT access control systems for corporate and government facilities, offset by continued implementation delays with some U.S. government projects. Q3 2011 sales reflected 15% organic growth year over year net of the effect of acquisitions.
"Our Q3 performance reflects continued strong momentum for Identive technology and solutions. Year-on-year quarterly growth of 30% was fuelled by higher demand across nearly all parts of our business, underscoring the critical role of identity management in enabling applications from network access to mobile payments. Gross margin also improved throughout the business," said Ayman S. Ashour, chairman and chief executive officer of Identive Group.

Siemens CMT Launch New walletXpress at Mobile Money Global in Dubai
Siemens CMT (Communications, Media and Technology) is to launch its new walletXpress mobile payment platform, which offers new services and products in the area of multimedia, ticketing, energy and heat, at the upcoming Mobile Money Global. The annual conference and exhibition is taking place this week in Dubai from 1-2 November, at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City Hotel and gathers the who's who in the mobile money industry.
According to Dr Francesco Prato, Sales Director Siemens CMT, the company will demonstrate the walletXpress platform for the unbanked and developing countries as well as its evolution in other verticals, such as multimedia systems, and show how NFC technology is supported.
Dr Prato is one the headline speakers at Mobile Money Global, with a presentation on "The Evolution of Mobile Payment on one platform". He says: "over the last years there have been several attempts to deploy mobile payment solutions. Some of them are quite successful, while many others have failed. A lot of them have failed because of technical issues, such as a lack of stability, performance, scalability, and security. Many others have failed because huge investments have been made up front, with weak business models behind them to justify the investments."
Trub introduces New Security Feature tru/window LOCK
Trub has launched a new personalisation security feature for laser-engraved polycarbonate travel and identity documents. The tru/window LOCK security feature offers a new dimension in protection of the card holder portrait against manipulation after issuance.
Trub's new security feature is designed for laser-engraved polycarbonate documents such as national ID cards and passport data pages. The technology is based on a sophisticated laser ablation personalisation process on a metallic foil which is integrated into a transparent window. A ghost image is laser personalised into the metal foil so that a simultaneous manipulation of the card hold portrait and ghost image after issuance of the document will leave visible traces. Hence, a fraudulent manipulation of the card holder portrait could easily be detected.
The tru/window LOCK security feature will be presented at 'Cartes & Identification' exhibition held in Paris from 15 to 17 November, 2011.
