Cryptocard Acquires GrIDsure Tokenless Authentication IP

Huntingdon based GrIDsure has sold its patents and intellectual property after its investor pulled out of the company. The liquidation is being overseen by Cork Gully.

In an announcement on Friday Cryptocard confirmed that it had acquired the patents and intellectual property of GrIDsure, the UK pioneer of tokenless, pattern-based authentication.

Neil Hollister, CEO of Cryptocard, said: "We made the decision to acquire GrIDsure's pattern authentication IP to build out our token and tokenless offering and to give our customers the widest possible choice. Tokenless technology is incredibly cost-effective and easy to use and is a growing market."



Gemalto Wins GSN Homeland Security Award

Gemalto had announced it has won a Government Security News (GSN) Homeland Security award for its Coesys Mobile Enrolment solution. The award, "Best Biometric Identification Device," recognises the all-in-one solution which features all biometric data capture and enrolment technology contained in a robust and easy-to-transport field case.

Coesys Enrolment & Issuance solutions combine the software, equipment and integration services for governments to securely capture biometric and biographical data, personalise and issue secure documents such as ePassports, health care and identity cards, as well as driver's licenses.

"Gemalto is honoured to be acknowledged by GSN for our advancements in personal identity verification, specifically with regard to biometrics and identity management solutions," said Neville Pattinson, vice president of Government Affairs, Gemalto North America."

Raisonance Eases Fielding of NFC and Smart Card Systems with Portable NomadLAB

Raisonance announces the introduction of the NomadLAB hand-held, autonomous communication analyzers for development and troubleshooting of Smart Card and Near Field Communications (NFC) systems.

The analyzers portability facilitates interoperability and functional verification of systems and software in the lab or in the field, by providing a laboratory quality tool that operates independently of a PC.

NomadLAB provides analysis of a wide range of smart card communication protocols. This includes ISO 14443 (A, B) protocol for 13.56 MHz contactless smart cards and readers, with the possibility to add support of NFC (IP1, IP2) protocol. And also supports ISO 7816 and SWP (HDLC, HCI) protocols for test of contact smart cards, USIM and their implementation in mobile phones.



Ingenico and Nets Renew Partnership

Ingenico has today announced a new four year agreement with Nets, a leading supplier of merchant solutions in the Nordic region, for the supply of Ingenico's latest range of NFC enabled payment terminals into Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.

The agreement is based around Ingenico's Telium 2 range of terminals ensuring all merchant categories being they large retailers, small merchants or mobile enterprises have the latest high security products on the market with full colour customer interface and Contactless/NFC capability. The deal also incorporates a new service partnership between the two organisations.

Oyvind Apelland CEO, Nets Merchant Solutions, commented: "This agreement ensures that Nets' retail customers and banking partners have access to the very latest payment technology. Our relationship with Ingenico will help Nets towards its goals of becoming the leading provider of merchant solutions in all Nordic markets and the preferred supplier to large Nordic merchants."
