Ingenico and MRL PosNET Offers India's First Line Encryption Solution
Ingenico with MRL PosNET is successfully launching India's first Line Encryption solution on a POS Terminal. 'SecureNET' is aimed at delivering a secure, innovative, efficient and light-weight POS application that can encrypt POS messages across different communication channels such as DSL broadband, Cable modem broad band, Data enabled GPRS SIM or Data enabled CMDA fixed wireless phones.
SecureNET gives the merchant flexibility by allowing them to transact using any open network infrastructure. The solution is agnostic to both communication mediums as well as telecom or broadband service providers. For merchants on dial-up connection, this solution offers an array of high speed communication options.
Developed on Ingenico platform, this solution encrypts the entire transaction packet from the POS all the way to the Switch using 3DES encryption as well as Visa recommended best practices for key generation, storage, transportation and injection.

Now All HSBC Customers to Get 'Secure Key'
HSBC will issue a one-time password code reader - HSBC Secure Key, to all its customers that can be used without the need to insert a Chip and PIN card. The device, which is small enough to keep in a wallet or purse, generates a unique PIN code each time a customer logs on to their accounts. Users must enter a personal four-digit PIN to generate the six digit pass-code.
Called the HSBC Secure Key, it differs from the approach taken by other UK banks such as the Co-operative Bank, Barclays, RBS and Nationwide which have equipped customers instead with bulkier Chip and PIN card readers.
The lightweight, small device will be issued to all new HSBC customers that register for online banking from 23 March 2011 and will be rolled out to all existing customers over the coming months, said Chris Pilling, head of HSBC customer security development.

Oberthur Technologies and the Caisse d'Epargne (France-based leading network of mutual savings banks) celebrate International Women's Day with the launch of two brand-new coloured core designs for their payment cards.
In order to offer a highly esthetical card to its female customers, the Caisse d'Epargne gave complete freedom to a well-known French designer to create the visuals. Smart Vibrant technology, developed by Oberthur Technologies and certified by GIE CB, was used to further enhance the esthetical qualities of the card.
The coloured core payment card can be easily recognised in a cardholder's wallet and therefore used more systematically. Smart Vibrant technology by Oberthur Technologies replaces the standard white plastic used in card production with an almost limitless range of plastic colours to suit specific brand images. Bank customers can instantly identify the card in their wallet just by looking at its coloured edge.
Get Skype Through Mobile Partner Program
Skype announced a Mobile Partner Program for operators in markets with low 3G broadband penetration. The program aims to bring the Skype experience to a broad range of mobile users and will enable carriers to differentiate their offerings in a competitive market environment. The program follows the successful operator partnerships that Skype has already launched with Verizon, KDDI and Hutchison 3.
The Mobile Partner Program from Skype is a simplified operator program that utilises a purpose built client/server solution. The solution developed specifically for operators, enables use of Skype on a broad range of handsets including smartphones and feature phones. Optimised for efficient bandwidth usage, it keeps users connected with minimal impact on battery life and data usage.
Operators taking part in the program will be able to offer their customers a fast, easy Skype experience that runs on a range of OS platforms covering more than 100 different smartphone and feature phone handsets. Through Skype their customers will have the ability to make free calls and send instant messages to other Skype users. In addition, their customers can take advantage of Skype's low rates to make affordable calls to mobile phones and landlines virtually anywhere in the world.
Over 20 million Smart Card-based Driver's Licenses and Registration Certificates Issued by Smart Chip
The Indian subsidiary of Morpho (Safran Group), Smart Chip Limited, is the first company to have issued more than 20 million smart card-based electronic driver's licenses and electronic registration certificates in India.

Pic4Pass Launches First Biometric ID Photo Site
Pic4Pass, a division of BioID has launched the first global online identification photo service that provides guaranteed government compliance based on sophisticated biometrics. The technology is designed for consumers to avoid the massive rejection levels for passport and visa applications.
Pic4Pass uses a unique, patented biometric technology that helps consumers create ID photos at home. The photos are guaranteed to comply with new government regulations for photo identification, especially for new biometric passports, but can also be used for any application where identification photos are accepted directly from consumers. Photos can be saved as a digital image and printed by the consumer's choice of online or local photofinishing services. Turkish Bank Gets VASCO Market Vision Award
VASCO Data Security International, Inc., a leading specialist in strong authentication products, has awarded Garanti Bank of Turkey with VASCO's Market Vision Award.
Garanti bank got the award for its focus on innovation and its visionary approach of DIGIPASS for Mobile. The award was given in this year's CeBIT in Hanover, Germany. The award consists of a bronze sculpture by the Belgian artist Inge Dewilde.
Garanti Bank is one of the first banks in Turkey to deploy DIGIPASS for Mobile for its retail customers.
