Watchdata Payment Products Achieve VISA Certification

Watchdata announces that its JAVA-S SDA card product TimeCOS-JV-S-T0-1, Java 2.2.1 DDA card product TimeCOS-JV-C-T0-1, "Sticker" Timecos/Fly TransWave v1.0, have successfully passed the rigorous certification standards for use by the Visa.

TimeCOS-JV-S-T0-1 and TimeCOS-JV-C-T0-1 are the two latest products by Watchdata. With Timecos/Fly TransWave v1.0, an expanded and upgraded version of the "Sticker" products which have already been certified by VISA, Watchdata's clients will enjoy a wider variety of product choices.

Tieto Implements New Generation Fraud Management Solution in Komercijalna Banka

Tieto has implemented the new generation Card Suite Fraud Management solution in Komercijalna Banka AD Skopje, one of the leading banks in Macedonia. Tieto's solution ensures efficient payment card fraud management in online and offline modes. The solution aims at minimizing the payment cards related fraud and ensuring secure card-based operations for the bank's customers.

"We had certain requirements regarding monitoring rules, reports and data format. Tieto was ready to adapt the solution according to our requirements very fast. Furthermore, Tieto has highly professional specialists in the payment card area. ROAM Data Launches Newest Secure Mobile Card Reader

ROAM Data announced the launch of its latest secure mobile card reader, the G3X. 35 Million Handsets in 2011 Marks Breakthrough Year for Mobile NFC

According to a new report by IMS Research the number of Near Field Communications (NFC)-enabled phones shipped in 2011 totalled 35 million globally. IMS Research forecasts that significant market events and the enablement of other cellular handsets will drive that number to nearly 80 million by the end of 2012.

"After seven or so years of false dawns and frequent disappointment, 2011 has proved to be something of a breakthrough year," says Don Tait, senior analyst at IMS Research. Most of the leading cellular handset manufacturers have launched NFC-enabled handsets over the last 12 months.

Looking forward to 2012, the market for NFC looks even more promising. Sales of NFC-enabled cellular handsets are projected to accelerate during the next twelve months to reach 80 million handsets. Additionally, showcase events such as the Summer Olympic Games in London will help to promote the technology and its benefits.

Assa Abloy Appoint New CFO

Assa Abloy has announced the appointment of Carolina Dybeck Happe as CFO and Executive Vice President of the ASSA ABLOY Group effective March 1st 2012. She succeeds Tomas Eliasson who, as has been announced earlier, will take up a position outside the company.

Carolina Dybeck Happe is currently CFO of Trelleborg. Before that Carolina spent nine years with ASSA ABLOY, the last four years as CFO of the EMEA division located in London.

Ten Million FINO Customers in India Use Multiple Micro-Banking Applications on Gemalto Smart Cards

Gemalto announced that ten million Financial Inclusion Network & Operations (FINO) customers in India now enjoy the benefits of micro-banking, using Gemalto smart cards, as part of FINO's broader branchless banking program. FINO is a business and banking technology platform combined with extensive services delivery channel. It has achieved breakthrough in scale and access to affordable financial services to the unserved and underserved masses, totalling 42 million customers in India. More than half of India's adults today are still not served or under-served by the finance sector, creating an immense need for financial services to be made accessible to India's 1.2 billion population.
