VocaLink Announces A Phased Withdrawal of its SEPA Services
VocaLink has announced it is realigning its global business strategy as a result of strong demand for its unique immediate payments expertise. At the same time, VocaLink will make a phased withdrawal of its Euro CSM and SEPA value added services.
Marion King, Chief Executive Officer at VocaLink said, 'Whilst SEPA has been a positive development for Europe, volumes remain comparatively low. As a result, we have decided to realign our global products to reflect our customers' current priorities around immediate payments. Following a strategic review of the global payments market, VocaLink has created a Global Transaction Services team to deliver the innovations required by today's evolving payments industry.
Under the leadership of Marc Terry, Managing Director of Global Transaction Services at VocaLink, the team will deliver a wide range of services to global customers and partners through its unique immediate payments expertise and leading presence in clearing and switching.
Commenting on the new division, Marc Terry at VocaLink said, 'We have conducted extensive international research into the payments needs of our customers as well as the typical consumer which we will be sharing at this year's Sibos conference. Overall, there is a widespread desire to move towards immediate payments".
Clear2Pay's EMV Level 1 Contactless Card Test Solution Qualified by EMVCo
Clear2Pay today announces that EMVCo, the EMV standards body owned by American Express, JCB, MasterCard and Visa, has qualified its Integri EMV Contactless Card Type Approval Level 1 Test Suite, Version 1.0.4. The test tool is the only solution available on the market for the validation of conformity to the EMVCo specifications. The tool is used by accredited test laboratories.
To simplify implementations and enhance global interoperability of Contactless Cards, EMVCo defined a set of Level 1 test cases. Prior to commercial roll-out, contactless payment cards require official certification proving conformity to these EMVCo specifications. The Integri Test Solution for EMVCo Type Approval is now available as an off-the-shelf tool for the contactless card industry's pre-certification and debugging needs. The Test Suite contains fully prepared reference test scenarios as defined by EMVCo.

Streamline Helps to Get SMEs Back on Track
In the aftermath of the recent riots Streamline took immediate action to help customers who contacted us to get back on their feet. Today, Streamline has announced a further series of measures that aim to ease the pain for those SMEs impacted by the recent riots.

Smart Card Alliance to Host Webinar on Smart Health ID Cards
One of the most pressing questions in healthcare today: how do we correctly identify patients and ensure that they are who they say they are? A September webinar from the Smart Card Alliance Healthcare Council will address this question, and outline the use of smart card-based patient IDs as a solution.
It will focus on smart health ID cards for patients, with speakers reviewing the key challenges with patient identity management and authentication today, and discussing how patient ID cards and smart card technology can address the critical issues.
