APRIL'S EDITION OF SMART CARD NEWS
Our April issue of Smart Card News opens with the news that the UK are planning on establishing greater security for their borders through the introduction of a US style visa waiver programme. Then Claire Boyer of ASK gives us an insight into contactless paper tickets and explains how mass transit has driven the market. This is followed by an academic look at biometric encryption Vs biometric data.
Many companies are discovering the convenience of mobile phones for their business process so Oliver Burke of Bell ID looks at the concept of transferring mobile solutions from pilot to roll-out with his main focus on near field communication (NFC). With Gemalto being the biggest player in the Smart Card Industry IDC takes a look at this Smart Card super heavy weight in a profile entitled “Gemalto Moves Beyond Smart Cards in 2007”.
We also hear from the anonymous "squeaker" who looks beyond the Smart Card towards the middleware providers in the secure flow of data with specific focus on Intercede and ActivIdentity.
